WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL

THERAPY

Why is nutrition important?

The role of nutrition and how it affects our health and well-being is becoming more and more understood. However as research develops in the area of nutrition it can also create a lot of confusion around the subject and we are often provided mixed messages through the media and even professional bodies.

What can it help with?

The question should be what would it not help with!  Changing how and what we eat is the first step for supporting many health conditions from skin health, gut health to mood, energy levels and hormones.

My clients include those with ongoing chronic health issues, fatigue/low energy, weight loss and sometimes a mixture.

It is important to rebalance, nourish and rejuvenate ourselves

My approach

There is no such thing as a perfect diet – we are all unique – what works for one person will be completely wrong for the next.  Our lifestyles have also moved so far from what supports and nurtures our health it’s easy to just continually deal with symptoms and keep going.  The world is so often offering quick fixes that satisfy short-term wants rather than long-term needs and adds to the stress we place on ourselves.

Symptoms of ill health are a sign that something needs to change. I understand how stressful and overwhelming ill-health and making changes can be so I adapt what I do and how I do it for every single client.    My approach to making changes is that they must be achievable, enjoyable and that you feel supported.

I often find that 'seemingly healthy' diets where someone is making real efforts to eat well can still be deficient in key nutrients or just don'tsuit the individual and lead to symptoms such as fatigue, bloating/gut issues.

My emphasis is not placed upon strict faddy diets, so I don’t do weird diet rules, count calories or measure people’s waists!  I work with you to get to the bottom of your issues by being thorough and supporting you with any changes that we need to make.  Helping you to learning what to eat for energy and what foods makes you feel good.

I will undertake a full review of your current state of health and review your health and medical history. As well as that I will also assess your current nutrition and lifestyle habits before discussing appropriate changes that are most suitable for you. This way I am able to individualise your feedback and the implementation of these changes to give you the best chance of success.
