Functional Medicine is a holistic and scientific approach

•Investigative. It treats symptoms by addressing the root of the problem, which leads to more profound and longer-lasting results

Treats the body as an interconnected whole, and we recognise that in order to treat one part, all other parts must be addressed

•Emphasises diet, lifestyle, supplements, and herbs

•Patient centered. This means we treat the patient and not the disease. We recognize the individuality of the patient, and we know that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Patient is respected, empowered, educated, and encouraged to play an active role in their healing process,

•Integrative. It doesn’t exclude drugs or surgery when they’re necessary but does tend to focus more on diet, lifestyle, supplements, and herbs as the primary interventions

•Preventative approach to health

How I can help you as your Functional Medicine Practitioner

As a Functional Medicine Practitioner I am a multi-disciplinarian that considers the impacts of nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, psychology, physiology and biochemical individuality. It is a patient focused approach whereby the patient and practitioner work together to develop a plan of action that is individualised to their own specific needs and requirements.

When I first start working with my clients the most crucial phase is the initial consultation. It is before and during the initial consultation that I am able to build up a picture of your health journey, goals and challenges.

Initially I assess your health history & analysis, medical history, current & past symptoms, nutrition habits, lifestyle and mental & emotional stressors. Once that information is gathered I can consider the possibility of additional laboratory testing to help guide my recommendations and to get to the bottom of your current challenges. In cases where tests have already been ran I am also able to review them in the initial consultation.

Following our initial consultation I am able to design and help you implement nutrition and lifestyle changes to support your goals and also develop an individualised protocol to help you move forward and reach your health goals. This process is then followed up with ongoing support and intermittent follow up consultations.

To get started all you have to do is get in touch if you want to time to speak briefly before you book an appointment or if you're ready to book then this can be done via online booking
