Functional Testing: Food Intolerances

Cyrex Laboratories

Cyrex offer advanced testing for wheat/gluten reactivity and food sensitivities. Cyrex is the leading laboratory in immunological testing and the validity of tests are supported by published research.

Their tests are recommended for those oncerned about intestinal permeability, gut health, gluten sensitivity, cross reactions to foods, antibody assessments, blood brain barrier health and sensitivities to chemicals.  They can be ordered as individual panels or combined.  Download full Cyrex information and all their available auto-immune testing here.

Cyrex Food Intolerance Testing Options

Array 2

Array 2 for Intestinal Antigenic Permeability Screen is used to measure intestinal permeability to large molecules that inflame the immune system. It is recommended for patients who present multiple symptom complaints such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. It is also useful for cases involving abnormal immune cell count, impaired immunity, autoimmunity, food sensitivities and intolerances

Celiac disease & gluten sensitivity

An endoscopy with duodenal biopsy showing villous atrophy is the current gold standard for diagnosing celiac disease.

The NHS blood test for gluten sensitivity looks at IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies only.

Array 10

Array 10 is a comprehensive Multiple Food Reactivity Screen to evaluate immune reactions to foods (raw and modified), food enzymes, lectins and artificial food additives such as meat glue, colourings and gums. This allows for the early detection of dietary-related triggers of autoimmune reactivity and can also monitor the efficacy of customized dietary protocols. This panel is indicated for individuals with unexplained symptoms whether gastrointestinal, neurological, dermatological or behavioural in nature. It is particularly useful for those with suspected intestinal permeability which can be a key trigger for environmentally-induced autoimmune disorders.

Array 4

Array 4 for Gluten Associated Cross-Reactive Foods and Food Sensitivity can be applied to the identification of additional dietary proteins to which the non-coeliac gluten sensitive or coeliac disease patient is sensitised. It can also detect cross-reactions in patients who are not responding to a gluten-free diet and is also indicated for gut dysbiosis that is not responding to standard therapy.

Array 3X

Array 3X for Wheat / Gluten Proteome Reactivity and Autoimmunity can be used to identify possible coeliac disease, non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, dermatitis herpetiformis, gluten ataxia or other wheat or gluten-related disorders. It is recommended for individuals experiencing non-responsive gastrointestinal symptoms and multiple symptom complaints such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. It may also be useful for cases relating to neuro-autoimmunity, neurodegeneration and mood disorders.  Gluten must be in the diet for 3 weeks prior.

Gluten exposure testing

GlutenDetect is a brand new, self- test which can identify whether someone has unknowingly or accidentally consumed gluten. Ideal for those suffering from Coeliac Disease, Non Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity, or requiring a strict gluten free diet for any reason.

In order to ensure a truly gluten free diet is being adhered to, GlutenDetect provides a simple at-home solution to maintaining a gluten free diet.

There are two GlutenDetect tests available. A urine test which detects gluten consumed within 24 hours, and a stool test which detects gluten consumed within 7 days. Both are simple and easy to use at home and you can read your own results within 15 mins.

Please get in touch for more info or you can also order directly from GlutenDetect.
